Land Surveyor
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to join our team. This role is responsible for performing field surveys, collecting accurate site data, and assisting in the preparation of maps, plats, and reports. A professional surveying license is required. This role is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay: $70,000- $85,000 annually
Role and Responsibilities
• Conduct field surveys using GPS, total stations, data collectors, and other surveying equipment
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction layout, and as-built surveys
• Collect, process, and verify survey data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Assist in preparing survey drawings, maps, legal descriptions, point clouds, and related documentation
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to ensure project requirements are met
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and properly store all surveying equipment
• Ensure compliance with company safety protocols
• Support licensed surveyors and senior staff with project-related tasks
Qualifications and Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field is a plus
• Experience in land surveying or construction layout preferred
• Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, and legal descriptions
• Strong math, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• LSIT/PLS license required
• Must be a US Citizen
